Industrial rotary screw air compressors operate under demanding conditions where ambient air containing particulate matter, humidity, and volatile chemical contaminants is drawn in and compressed. Maintaining optimal air quality is crucial. ISO 8573-1:2010 specifies air quality classes for compressed air relative to particles, water, and oil.
Without proper pre-filtration by an air filter cartridge, particulate contamination causes abrasive wear on the compressor rotors, degrades the lubricating oil, and leads to premature clogging of the down-stream air-oil separator. Choosing a high-efficiency replacement element is essential for preserving the system's operational life.
The performance of an air filter cartridge depends heavily on its filter media. Premium OEM cartridges use advanced, resin-impregnated cellulose or synthetic media sourced from global technology leaders like Hollingsworth & Vose (H&V) and Ahlstrom.
Air filters must withstand strong structural forces. Under heavy intake loads, pressure fluctuations can cause weaker cartridges to deform, leading to bypass leaks that allow unfiltered air directly into the compressor element.
JCTECH uses high-quality polyurethane (PU) molding systems. The flexible red or black PU endcaps provide resilient sealing surfaces, cushioning the cartridge against vibration while ensuring an airtight fit inside the filter housing. The inner and outer metal support cages are constructed from corrosion-resistant galvanized steel, preventing collapse under high differential pressures.
Separating aerosolized oil from compressed air requires multi-stage coalescence filtration. As compressed air passes through the borosilicate micro-glass media of the air-oil separator, microscopic oil droplets collide and merge into larger drops that flow down the separator wall to the collection sump.
A high-efficiency separator ensures residual oil carryover remains below 3 ppm. This protects down-stream pneumatic tools, saves on synthetic lubricant costs, and minimizes the risk of line contamination.
Operating three factories in China, including our primary filtration site in Xinxiang, enables JCTECH to manage costs effectively.
